Most fashion brands don't really care about the planet and the people who make their clothes. We do...

At Unfolded we make clothes without the waste created by big brands and use the savings to do good in the world. Our clothes are,

Better for the planet

Better for the workers who make them and their communities

We focus our positive impact in the world on the workers who make our clothes, their communities and some of the poorest areas of India.

Why do we do this?

In India the literacy rate is estimatd to be around 75% - in the UK it's 99%. The quickest way to impact long term poverty is to ensure kids are able to read and write at an early age. This ensures their attendance in school till a later age and opens up better employment opportunities.

Partner With The Best

We partner with the amazing charity Pratham for our impact work. Pratham is one of the most respected educational charities in the world after being founded in India in the late 1980s. We believe in supporting amazing organizations instead of trying to create direct impact ourselves.

Community Impact

Through Pratham we help to fund a school in the region where our factories are located. This school supports children who have dropped out of mainstream education after falling behind. It focuses on helping them learn at the right level to enable them to continue their education.

Additional Support

Alongside this some of the money saved by removing the waste from the process is used to fund intervention programmes in schools in some of Indias poorest regions to ensure children don't drop out of school due to not being able to keep up.

The Real Impact Your Clothes Can Make

Meet Tania, 9, one of the children supported by Unfolded shoppers just like you!

Unable to Read and Write

Tania was one of the 26% of the population who wasn't able to read and write - compared to 1% in the UK.

Tania lives near Delhi. Her father is a traditional construction worker (a Beldar) and her mother cuts threads in a nearby factory.

Education Programe

Since joining the Pratham programme, funded by Unfolded, Tania has learnt to read. A huge achievement and one that has changed her world outlook.

Dreaming of a Better Future

Tania now says her dream is to become a police officer and to protect the nation.

With this change in outlook she also now wants to take care of her parents as they grow old.

Why does this impact need to happen?

Despite enrollment in school being high in India non attendance is a huge issue and with no system for holding kids back children drop out of the education system as they fall behind their peers. With Pratham these children are supported and are taught at their level to enable them to further their education.
