What's happened at Unfolded since Dragons' Den...
You might have seen us on Dragons' Den this week, it was a bit nerve racking wasn’t it?
This short segment was edited from 2 hours of intense filming.
Sadly what you didn’t get to see was; our amazing customers talk about their love for Unfolded, how we built an initiative that helped support over 110,000 garment workers or just how much Touker couldn’t understand people choosing to shop in a way that's better for the planet...
This was actually filmed in 2022 and first shown in 2023 - since then A LOT has happened with our mission to take on fast fashion and build a better way to shop!
Below you’ll find what we've been up to since this was filmed...
Better Quality - Better Factories
At the time of filming we had created and designed around 30 styles with our customers input and could only work with smaller factories because of the volumes required.
We’ve now created over 150 different styles and work with leading factories in India.
This means our quality has improved a lot - so much so our repeat order rate is 3 times higher than normal brands!
We have grown A LOT
When this was filmed we had around 6,000 customers - now nearly 80,000 women in the UK have shopped with Unfolded and this number is increasing by hundreds every single day!
We expect to hit 100,000 women in the next couple of months... Why do so many people shop with Unfolded?

Over 10,000 Kids Supported To Read and Write
Unfolded shoppers have supported over 10,000 kids in India to learn to read and write with our amazing partners, Pratham. This support really is world changing for these kids and it's all thanks to women just like you choosing to buy clothes without the waste!
Zero Items Sent To Landfill
By designing our clothes with our customers and then making them after you order we've ensured no new clothes head to landfill from Unfolded!
The Investment
Since appearing in The Den we've raised 10 times the amount we asked the Dragons for to build the amazing community and support our mission to take on Fast Fashion!
We would love to have had a Dragon on the journey with us but we've found some pretty amazing Angels instead!

When you order from Unfolded now you’ll see the date the item will ship by, alongside the saving for shopping in this way compared to a normal brand. Most of the styles on sale just now, will ship before the end of April and some can be delivered in a couple of weeks. We’ve worked A LOT to get the delivery time down.

What even is Unfolded? Who is behind it?
Unfolded is a movement to make clothes without waste and use the savings to support a positive impact in the world. We were founded in 2021 by Cally Russell, Jamie Sutherland and Hilde Frydnes. Before Unfolded they used to help big brands remove the waste from their business but realized for real change to happen they had to build a totally new way to shop. We're a company but we're focused on positive impact in everything we do. Over 50,000 women have joined our missing to remove the waste from the fashion industry so far and help design everything we make to make that dream a reality.
Where are you based?
We're based in Edinburgh, Scotland, the fashion capital of the world! All of our clothes are made in ethical factories in India.
If It's made to order can I still return them if I don't like them?
Of course you can - we offer 14 day returns once an item has been delivered. You just have to pay the postage to send it back to our partner in Nottingham. You can swap an item for free though if it's just the size you don't like for free on our swap platform.
Are you really as good as you say you are?
We like to think so... We've spent the best part of a decade working with major brands helping them make clothes without the waste. They wouldn't go as far as they needed to though so we've created the way to make clothes that we know is better for everyone in the process. There are some trade offs - it takes longer - but we know it's worth it. Our repeat order rate is double the industry standard so we must be doing something right!
How can you be cheaper than other brands and be sustainable? That doesn't make sense...
30% of the clothes made are never sold - this year that will be 26 billion items of clothing. Think how much it costs to make all of those clothes? It's tens of billions. We're able to offer better prices because we don't make any of this waste. We design everything with your help and then only make what people actually want.
Why haven't I heard of you before?
Because the world isn't fair and we've only existed since late 2021! In that time we've grown to 50,000 customers though, been featured across tens of major publications and our CEO Cally also turned down 3 offers on Dragons Den - he's a bit ballsy like that!
How long will my clothes take to arrive?
You'll see a shipping date above in the buy section. This is the current estimated shipping date based on the information we have from our amazing factories. It can change but it normally doesn't. You can track your order in your account at any point and you'll also get weekly emails.
