A quick update from the team on sizing:
We knew from the very start that for This is Unfolded to work, we needed to listen to our customer community and ensure that what we were producing closely met their wants. Otherwise our collections simply wouldn’t reduce product wastage or have the wider impact we are aiming for. We started our design process by speaking to our Creators about what clothes they hoped to see. Then, at each stage of the design process, we sought their feedback.
We launched with our first collection in sizes 8-18. This size profile was very much dictated by the factory we were working with, and the fact that we were producing a small collection this first time. We always knew that sizing was something we’d want to extend as soon as we could as we scaled our offering but just didn’t think it would be possible until future collections.
When we launched This is Unfolded, we had immediate feedback asking us to increase our size selection. We immediately set about exploring how we could extend our range of sizes and within 24 hours we had worked out a way to offer sizes 8-24.
We’re so grateful to have received this early feedback to enable us to act sooner rather than later. One of the advantages of being a small (and enthusiastic!) team, is that we know that challenges and even problems will come up along the way – it’s the joy of starting something new and different. As long as we can work quickly to solve them and learn from them, we’re good.
